Founded in 1996 by a group of close friends from France, La Provence began with a single location in Lake Oswego and a simple mission: to share the authentic, rustic flavors of their home villages. Today, this locally owned favorite has grown into a beloved collection of bistros and bakeries across the Portland metro area and Southwest Washington, offering a daily escape to France.

From Our Farm to Your Table
Our commitment to quality starts at the root. We operate our own pesticide-free farm in Canby, Oregon, where we grow the seasonal herbs and vegetables that anchor our scratch-made recipes.

About Us
In 1996, we came together
as a small group of foodie
friends to share our passion for the traditional bread,
pastries, and food from our
countryside villages in and around Provence, France,
that we missed so much.
Our dream of owning a restaurant and bakery was born and we began planning.
We opened our first location, La Provence,
a small bakery and bistro in
Lake Oswego, Oregon.
There, we enjoyed bringing European delights and hearty meals to the plates of all who stopped by--friends, family, and neighbors. Exciting expansion plans began as we looked at spots in Portland.
